6.3 GDPR compliance and consent capture

If your company operates in or interacts with contacts in the European Union, GDPR compliance matters. Here’s what Helpie provides.

Built-in consent capture

Helpie includes a “Consent received” toggle on every interaction. Your booth team can use it to record that they obtained explicit permission to collect a visitor’s personal data.

This is a self-certification feature. Helpie facilitates the recording of consent — it’s your organisation’s responsibility to ensure consent is actually obtained and is appropriate for your use case.

Data subject rights

GDPR gives individuals certain rights over their data. Helpie supports these:

• Right to access — You can export all data related to a specific individual from the console.

• Right to rectification — You can edit interaction details in the console to correct errors.

• Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — You can delete specific interactions or request that we delete data on your behalf.

Data processing

Helpie processes personal data on your behalf to provide the service. We act as a data processor; you are the data controller.

If you need a formal Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for your records, contact us at prioritysupport@helpie.io.

Important note

Helpie provides tools to support compliance, but compliance itself is your organisation’s responsibility. We recommend consulting with your legal team on your specific obligations under GDPR, India’s DPDP Act, or other applicable regulations.
