3.5 Troubleshooting: user sees 'General (No event)'
Why this happens and how to fix it in under a minute.
Written By Ravi Kiran
If a user sees “General (No event)” on their app home screen instead of the event name, it means they’re not linked to the event.
Why this happens
The user account exists, but it hasn’t been linked to the specific event. This can happen when:
• The user was recently added and the event link wasn’t set
• The admin linked the user to a different event
• The event’s usage period hasn’t started yet
How to fix it
1. Log in to the console at app.helpie.io.
2. Go to Users in the sidebar.
3. Find the user and verify they’re linked to the correct event.
4. If they’re not linked, link them to the event.
5. Ask the user to tap Sync Now in the app’s More menu.
The event name should appear on their home screen within a few seconds.
If it still shows “General (No event)”
• Check that the event’s usage dates have started. If the usage period hasn’t begun, the event won’t be visible in the app.
• Ask the user to close and reopen the app, then tap Sync Now again.
• If the problem persists, contact us at prioritysupport@helpie.io.
Next steps
• Adding and managing users (2.4)
• Verifying your event in the console (2.1)
