4.4 Importing Helpie data into your CRM
How to get your exported data into Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or other CRM systems.
Written By Ravi Kiran
Helpie exports your data as a clean Excel file. Here’s how to get it into your CRM.
The general process
Most CRM systems support Excel or CSV import. The typical workflow:
1. Export your data from Helpie (see article 4.1).
2. Open the Excel file and review the columns.
3. Map Helpie columns to your CRM fields. For example: Helpie’s “Company” → CRM’s “Account Name.” Helpie’s “Email” → CRM’s “Email.” Data Module columns → Custom fields in your CRM.
4. Import the file using your CRM’s import wizard.
5. Verify the imported records and clean up any mapping issues.
Tips for a smooth import
• Create custom fields in your CRM before importing, to match your Data Module columns.
• Use the event name or date as a tag/campaign in your CRM so you can track which leads came from which event.
• If your CRM supports lead source tracking, set the source to the event name.
• Import starred interactions separately if you want to prioritise them in your CRM workflow.
Salesforce integration
For Salesforce users, we offer a managed integration. We handle the setup, field mapping, and testing. Data flows from Helpie to Salesforce automatically.

Other CRM systems
For HubSpot, Zoho, MS Dynamics, Pipedrive, and other CRMs, the Excel export and import approach works well. Most modern CRMs have straightforward import wizards that handle Excel files.
Self-service integrations for Salesforce and Zoho are on our roadmap.
