1.7: Device requirements and compatibility
What devices Helpie works on and whether you need any special hardware.

Helpie Event runs on your team's existing smartphones. No special hardware required.
Supported devices
Android — Any modern Android phone (Android 8.0 or later)
iOS — Any modern iPhone (iOS 14 or later)
That's it. No tablets, no dedicated scanners, no rental devices.
Do you provide devices?
No. Helpie is designed to run on your team's own phones. Each booth team member uses their personal or company-issued smartphone.
Camera requirements
The business card scanner uses the phone's built-in camera. Any modern smartphone camera works. Higher quality cameras produce slightly better scan results, but even mid-range phones handle most business cards well.
Huawei phones
HHelpie requires the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS) for installation. Newer Huawei phones that don't have access to Google Play Store may not be supported. If this applies to your team, we recommend using a different Android or iOS device.
Internet requirements
Helpie does not need a constant internet connection. Most features work fully offline. See article 2.9 for details on what needs connectivity and what doesn't.
