1.3 Your first 15 minutes — a setup checklist

Six steps to get from first login to a fully configured event.

Written By Ravi Kiran

New to Helpie? Here’s how to get up and running. Most admins complete this in under 15 minutes.

1. Log in to the console. Go to app.helpie.io and sign in with the credentials provided to you. You’ll land on the Dashboard.

2. Confirm your event. Click Events in the sidebar. Verify that your upcoming event is listed with the correct name and dates. If it’s missing or shows incorrect details, contact us at support@helpie.io.

3. Set up your qualification questions. Go to App Content → Data Modules. This is where you configure the questions your booth team will answer for each visitor — things like product interest, budget timeline, or decision-making role.

You can create new modules or link modules from a previous event. Each module is a single question with tap-to-select choices.

4. Review your message templates. Go to App Content → Message Templates. Helpie comes with default email and WhatsApp templates. You can customise these or create your own using variables like {{first_name}} and {{company}}.

5. Add your users. Go to Users and add your booth team members. Each new user receives an SMS and email with download links and login instructions automatically.

If you have existing users from a previous event, you don’t need to re-add them — just make sure they’re enabled and linked to the correct event.

6. Test it yourself. Add yourself as a user. Open the app on your phone. Tap + to add a new interaction and verify that your data modules appear correctly. No need to save — just check that everything looks right.

Pro tip: If you make changes to data modules or templates after your team has started using the app, ask them to tap Sync Now in the app’s menu to see the updates.
